Ajattelin nyt tälläisenä tylsänä välipäivänä, kun ei missään (tai ainakaan mun elämässä) tapahdu mitään, kirjoittaa bändistä, josta olen pitänyt vuodesta 2003 lähtien ja jonka rooli elämässäni on viimisen viiden vuoden aikana kasvanut huimasti. Eli kerron teille lempibändistäni PMMP:stä Kun Pemujen ensimmäinen single Rusketusraidat tuli kesällä 03, niin tietysti se tavoitti minutkin. Biisi taisi tavoittaa koko Suomen kansan, koska kaikki tuntuvat tietävän kyseisen kappaleen. Ja hyvä niin! Mutta siis minäkin sen kuulin ja heti tykkäsin. Myönnän, etten minä 7v sillon yhtään tajunnut mistä siinä laulettiin, mutta ei se haitannut. En minä tuolloin vielä tajunnut mistään muustakaan mitään, että ei sen puoleen. Enhän minä tuohon aikaan myöskään kuunnellut levyiltä muita kun hittejä, joten Kuulkaas enot levyn todelliset helmet olen löytänyt vasta myöhemmin. Kovemmat kädet levy tuli keväällä 05 ja silloin jo osasin kuunnella muitakin kuin hittejä. Edelleen kuuntelin pääasiassa tuttuja biisejä ja siksi minulle on ehkä edelleen levyn kuusi ekaa raitaa tutuimmat, vaikka loppukin levystä on ihan yhtä hyvää tavaraa. Minulta muuten löytyy kyseinen lätty hyvin monena levyhylly(i)stä. Iskä osti sen heti julkaisun jälkeen, äiti osti Kumipainoksen kun se julkaistiin ja iskä osti tuon toisen version myös. Sekä taisin saada “alkuperäisen” vielä lahjaksikin joskus. Toisaalta, kun on erolapsi, niin ei minulla ole kuin kaksi versioita yhdessä kotona Jouluna 2006 sain lahjaksi pari kuukautta aikaisemmin julkaistun Leskidin tyttäret cd:n ja kuuntelin heti KOKO levyn läpi! Jotkut kolahtivat heti, osa vaati hetken sulattelemista, mutta kaikki on taattua PMMP-laatua. Tuota levyä olen kyllä tainnut kuunnella kaikista eniten, koska osa kappaleista tulee ei enää sytytä niin paljoa, vaan ovat pelkästään kappaleita muiden joukossa. Mutta ei ne silti huonoja ole, ja silloin kun välillä joskus kuuntelen niitä, niin ihan yhtä paljon rakastan ja innostun niistä. Eli ajatus niiden kuuntelemisesta ei sytytä, mutta kun kuuntelen, niin sytyn ihan yhtä hyvin niillekin. Sekavaa? Livenä Pemut näin ensimmäisen kerran YleX Popissa 2006. Keikka ei ole silleen painunut mieleen mitenkään erityisesti, mutta totesin silloin Pemujen olevan todella hyviä livenä! Siitä lähti myös minun fanittaminen kasvamaan, eikä bändi ollut enää yksi hyvä muiden hyvien joukossa. Ja mitä enemmän keikkoja kiertelen ja levyjä kuuntelen, niin sitä enemmän bändiin rakastun. Tosin en ole enää pariin vuoteen niin paljoa levyjä kuunnellut, vaan olen alkanut kuunnella livevetoja YouTubesta Eli livemeininki on todella hyvää! Ja hauskaahan on, että olen nähnyt kolme (?) keikkaa joilla Mira on raskaana, eikä se näy hänen heilumisessaan juuri mitenkään! Samat muuvit, sama energia, ehkä ei niin paljon hyppimistä… Mutta pääosin sama meininki ja yksi parhaista PMMP keikoista onkin näiltä Miran raskaus ajoilta. Eli kun Veden varaan levy tuli 09 keväällä, niin Pemut olivat jo nousseet lempibändikseni ja heti koulusta päästyäni juoksin levyä ostamaan sen julkaisupäivänä! Junassa matkalla kotiin unohduin lukemaan kansilehtisestä sanoja ja ajoin sen pysäkin ohi, millä minun piti jäädä pois Nyt alkaa olla tuon levyn julkaisusta kolme vuotta, saisi uusi tulla jo! Toisaalta olen käynyt 13. keikalla tämän kolmen vuoden aikana, että kyllä on Pemut silleen elämässä olleet koko ajan. JA kuulinhan minä pari viikkoa sitten jopa uuden biisinkin Finlandia klubilla (laitan linkin jutun loppuun) ! Mutta Pemujen merkitys elämässäni on kasvanut eniten ehdottomasti tämän vuoden aikana. Ensinnäkin vappuna kahtena peräkkäisenä päivänä nähdyt keikat saivat minut niin sekasin, että harva uskoo

If I understand correctly, this is about how your interest in PMMP has developed. So I have a question. Do you have a favourite PMMP album, and if so, what makes it your favourite? Mine is Kuulkaas Enot!, even though I was first attracted to PMMP by the stunningly beautiful Päiväkoti. It’s so full of character and seems to have one brilliant track after another, starting with the marvellous Niina. I love to listen to it all the way through, whereas with the other albums I tend to listen to individual tracks.
However, some of my top favourite tracks are on two of the other albums. I’m thinking especially of Päiväkoti, Kovemmat Kädet, Salla Tahtoo Siivet and Lapsuus Loppui. I don’t consider the album Leskiäidin Tyttäret to be as strong as the other three, but it’s still well worth having of course (fave tracks Henkilökohtaisesti and Leskiäidin Tyttäret).
I’ve tried again to understand your Finnish as best I can, but what does ‘Pemujen’ mean? You used it several times but I couldn’t find a translation of that. By the way, have you considered including some English translation in your posts, after all the Finnish? I think quite a few foreign PMMP fans would be interested in what you write, so you might get some extra followers. Just an idea.
Yes, this is all about PMMP: how I became a fan and how PMMP’s role in my life has grown tremendously over the past five years.

But I think, that my favorite albun (on this moment) is Veden Varaan. It has so successful combination! But I can’t say any bad word of any song or album. And my favorite song is… probably 4ever Young, Matoja or Poika <3
I think, that you are understanding very well, what I write. And the fact, that I use also spoken language there (because it has became already manner) makes your understandig lot more harder… But I will try not to use spoken language any more

And then ‘Pemujen’… Word ‘Pemut’ is like a nickname for PMMP and ‘Pemujen’ is a plural of the word (I used Google Translate, so I’m not sure is it correct). Hopefully this helped you to understand
Ok, maybe you could address the topic of favourite PMMP songs/albums in a later post. Could be interesting. I forgot to mention that Kuulkaas Enot! is actually my favourite album of all time.
The new song 4ever Young sounds good, but I’m glad that only the title is in English. I wouldn’t want PMMP to sing in English, because part of the attraction is the beautiful sound of Finnish. Have you seen the YouTube video ‘PMMP – 4ever young @ Tulisuudelma 9.12.2011′ by easdfgh100? That’s the best I’ve seen for this song (partly because of the excellent sound quality), but I also know the miimuli video you gave a link to.
Poikka is quite a favourite of mine, though it took a while to grow on me. It has an unusual sound, but it’s glorious.
I think you said that you’ve started watching live PMMP videos on YouTube. I’ve been watching a lot too, doing a lot of searching to try and find the best ones. Many are poor quality of course, but as long as the sound isn’t painful and the picture isn’t too bad, I often still watch them. They give me some sense of being there.
Does the nickname (or abbreviation?) Pemut come from the sound of the first two letters of PMMP? That’s my guess. You said Pemujen was a plural, but I suspect you instead mean the possessive, so Pemujen = PMMP’s.
GoogleTranslate gives me a rough idea of some what you say, but much of its ‘translation’ is nonsense. By doing extra work I can sometimes get a better understanding, but it’s slow. I wouldn’t want you to alter your writing style just to try and help me, as I’m only one reader, but thanks anyway.
Did you get the picture with Mira before or after the gig? Did lots of people do the same? Did you get a shot with Paula too?
Yes, I’m glad too. I have watched all videos from YouTube of that song, tried to get the words (and I have almost succeeded!)

Yes, I do watch lot of PMMP live videos, because the liveshow is so good! PMMP is definitely one of the most best live bands in Finland! And I also like more “live versions”, those are better and more rock in my opinion
The nickname comes from two first letters sound. And yes, Pemujen means PMMP’s and is possesive, I had some aberration at there.
The picture was taken after the gig, when girls came and gave autographs (I had no paper
) and pictures, so I totally was not the only one. Or Paula actually came a bit later, when we had already left, so I didn’t got a picture with her. But my friends told, that she had came.
So you’re Jerppuli96! In that case I can tell you I’ve already seen all your PMMP vids and put you on my list of the best uploaders to watch. I subscribed to you recently and left a comment two weeks ago (Maria Magdalena & Kesä-95, at Espoo), as encouragement. Watch out for a few more comments including one I’ll make on your 4ever Young vid, and give me some replies huh? I’ve made comments on quite a few PMMP vids by now, but haven’t had many replies. The Finnish are too shy maybe?
It’s good that you often show complete or near-complete songs. Many YouTube uploads are only clips, and it’s especially frustrating when a video ends before the song is over. I notice that your recent vids only seem to have size 240p though, whereas some earlier ones are available in more satisfactory 480p. How come?
In my last reply I accidentally put too many ‘k’s in Poika, and missed the mistake. Oops! I know it would be pronounced quite differently if it had two ‘k’s. I don’t think ‘poikka’ is even a proper word is it?

Yes, I usually do film the whole song/songs, because it is really frustrating watch only clips. And I actually don’t know the answer… I try to find out it, I have wondered about it myself too.
‘Poikka’ is not a word, it’s like you would write ‘Bboy’ or something like that. But good I’m not the only one who makes mistakes by accident
And yes, Miimuli82 has very good clips at there. I actually know the person behind Miimuli82, she is one of the ‘vatipäät’

And he had a good camera, mine is quite bad… It’s kinda hard to get energetic photos, because when they jump around stage my camera has no time to catch well picture. And other reason is, that I with energetic song the audience is very energetic too and we jump and “go nuts” also 
But there might be on posts where I tell about gigs… have you watched those already?
Yes I hope you can get things sorted out and make future vids 480p. With your recent ones I think you must’ve uploaded a different movie format than before, otherwise YouTube would’ve produced 480p versions like earlier.

So far I’ve only properly looked at your Ilta Sirkuksessa post, but I hope to look at your other PMMP gig posts in due course. It’s useful that you have the Keikkoja page and the Keikat category, making it easy to find them.
I’m not sure how to translate ‘vatipäät’ but I think I know what you mean. The people who are *really* keen on the band. But can you explain the make-up of the word? Is it two words joined together?
Well, fanny thing is, that even we have been very many gigs at the same time, we actually met Miimuli82 just last year
I am kinda shy and I had no courage to go and talk with her or others of Vatipäät.
And the vatipäät is in Finnish like a bish heas or something, but the name comes from Mummola, when they sing “Hei vatipää, sul on sinäinen trauma…” etc. And that is like “Hey idiot you have an internal trauma…” And the name is our friend group, who goes on PMMP-gigs or just is a fan.
I will do also those Enflish “reports” about PMMP gigs , so is you wait from few days to couple weeks (will see how busy I am) you can read them, it will be lot more easier

Thanks for the YouTube replies. By the way, in the descriptions for your YouTube vids I think you should give a link to any blog post you have about that gig; and if it includes English translation, say so in English to encourage non-Finnish viewers. You’ll get more visitors here!
“bish heas”? Neither of those are English words, but I suspect you meant “dish head”, as I now realize that vati can mean dish and pää can mean head. I’ve also checked a translation of Mummola by ‘rook’ in a PMMP forum, and the translation there was fathead (or fat-head). Anyway, thanks.

Yes, checking is best done *before* you post, ha ha. But I think you can cut yourself some slack. Take it easy and keep things fun. Also there’s no need to feel slow for not having that link idea. I’ve just had more experience, being quite a lot older. By the way, both of your uses of ‘make’ were ok.
